I was bored on the interweb, so I decided to add another random blog post to add on to my pitiful excuse for a blog.

- Awesome weekend for the Wings; 2 wins back to back, Ozzie w/ a shutout and becoming the 11th most winning goalie in the NHL, 50 more wins and Oz will be the winningest goalie in Wings history. With the shutout against CBJ, the Wings clinch the first playoff spot, and set a record for being the only team with 100+ points in 9 consecutive seasons (a total which will continue to be broken by the Wings)

Streetlight Manifesto confirmed.
The list of bands has been released, but the list of bands for Detroit has not. All of the bands will be amazing, but I'm really hoping for 3OH!3, Blink182, Flogging Molly, FTSK, LTJ, IPS, The Ataris, and Thrice. If you can figure out the abbreviated bands, extra points for you.

Well my attention span is starting to dwindle so with that, one more video featuring a Ukrainian, 2 Russians, a Jew, and a Californian.

And so it begins...

Setting: I'm in my bed, watching Boondock Saints and I don't feel like getting out of bed because somewhere, my cat is on the prowl waiting for my leg to touch the floor before me leaps upon it...

So "Mid-Winter Break" started officially today, though I've been done with classes since 12 35P.M. Thursday. I slowly packed my stuff yesterday , constantly being distracted by either the TV, Anthony's guitar, talking to people via AIM/MSN/Facebook, but somehow it got done. I ended up watching movies until like 5A.M. I am starting to be more and more certain that I have insomnia.

Today, I got up around 10A.M. (hooray 5 hours of sleep). I ran around 3/4 of campus doing random things that I should've done yesterday...Then I get a text from Timmy and find out he was brilliant and left his charger in his room. So, then I had to get that and drop it off at the Fisher building. Finally, around 1 I leave for good ol' Cornflake Capitol. But before that, I went to Guitar Center to play around with some guitars and pick up guitar strings.

So what was suposed to be a 10-15 min stop to get some strings ended up being 2 hours...

Stupid weather...I really hope the weather becomes somewhat spring-like...Otherwise this could be a slightly un-eventful spring break. I've wanted to go Mountain Biking for a really long time...

After a long week of work and HW it's finally FRIDAY. Too bad I woke up at 8am for no apparent reason, and could'nt fall back asleep. So I decided to take my car to the Ford dealer to get them to fix the maracas in my door, and the mouse out of my storage bin. Instead of waiting, they decided to be nice to me and give me a free loaner. I was expecing a Focus or Taurus (like they usualy give), but to my surprize, they gave me a 2008 Fusion. The best thing is, it was a level up on mine (SEL vs SE) and had automatic climate control, SYNC (you talk to the car and so on), and a more powerful engine. As nice as it is, I want mine back.

Things to do tonight:
-go somewhere random
-watch the Wings game

Sitting here in a dark room trying to focus on my Ethics HW. Stupid journal nonsence.

On the other hand, I'm listening to pretty much my favorite (non-ska) bands ever. Sugarcult. I never really bought CD's (usualy downloaded songs or borrowed CD's from friends) but I bought Start Static back in 2001 and loved it. The Palm Trees and Power Lines album is probably what got me interested in guitar, and I can still remember how to play "Memory" for the most part.




Now back to studying.

This is from a while ago, but I never got around to posting it.

I recently read an article/blog where a person was bashing the Big 3 for making terrible products that weren't in the same "ballpark" in terms of reliability/efficiency as some Import companies.

I can't speak for GM or Chrysler as I don't follow them as closely, but I can for Ford. In the last 3 years, Ford has taken massive steps in improving the quality of their products. They have the safest vehicle lineup, fuel-efficient vehicles that are on par or better as their import competitors, and IMO some of the best looking vehicles. Even the "green" people have nothing to complain about. Ford offers Hybrid versions of the Escape/Mariner SUV and Fusion/Milan Mid-size Sedan, and are working on an all-electric plug in Escape and Focus that will be on the market in a few years. While I personally am not much of a Hybrid fan, I will say that I would take a Ford hybrid over a Prius any day. I could care less that I will get 10 less MPG. I would rather have a vehicles that looks like a normal car/suv and doesn't handle like a boat (typical of most Toyotas).

I would add some links backing up my statements and just for more info, but I don't feel like hunting through my hundreds of bookmarks.

I finaly feel complete. I have my car back! After 3 long/painful weeks without it, we have been reunited. First thing I did when I got home was wipe her down and a quick wax. Looks even better now than before the crash (mainly because the grille was stone chipped to hell and there was a 4inch long scratch on the hood from previous owner that was filled in half assed.) Took it to the park to have some fun and take pictures:

After about 5-10 minutes of drifting and doing donuts and random other shit, I decided to take a little video:







0-100MPH in a few seconds, and all I did was go about 6 feet forward...yay ICE. Surprized I only hit 4th gear haha the tach needle was bouncing like hell.

Yay, FINALS are over! (Fuck I Never Actually Learned Shit)...

Going home tomorrow, being reunited with my Fuzh! Pretty much going on a road trip to nowhere when I get her back...I've been through withdrawls...

Somewhat excited for next semester to start. Exciting classes like Study of Film, Intro to Russian, and Video Production along with some not so fun classes like Stats, Ethics, and MacroEcon ( at least that ones online and starts in march!)

My schedule is amazing as well:
Monday: Film (1-2:15) and Video Prod. (6:40-9:10)
Tuesday: Ethics(11:20-12:35) and Russian (5:15-6:30)
Wednesday: Film (1-2:15) and Stats (6:40-9:10)
Thursday: Ethics(11:20-12:35) and Russian (5:15-6:30)
Friday: Sleeping In 355 (optional attendance)

Night classes rock, every one I've had so far always lets out early and 2 night classes are once a week, amazing. Creating a schedule like this takes talent.

Along with that, few events that I plan on attending; NAIAS (DETROIT CAR SHOW) Can't wait to see the 2nd gen Fusion in person. Just found out via Gmail that Streetlight and Reel Big Fish are playing in Royal Oak on Jan 13th...definitely going.

Hopefully this semester I can get a job....need money to spend on car...argh...
